Amelia Loye, Founder and Managing Director

Amelia is a social scientist specialising in community and stakeholder engagement. Her deep expertise includes digital engagement, technologies that open government, public participation and cross-sector collaboration.

She is passionate about representative open government, sustainable development, civic innovation and resilient communities — and is committed to making these happen wherever she can.

For over 17 years, she has been helping governments and organisations in Australia, New Zealand and Canada understand communities and engage stakeholders in the design and delivery of policy, digital transformations, programs and services.

In 2013, Amelia founded engage2 to enrich representative democracy and encourage constructive participation through our expert engagement delivery, democratic and civic innovations, enhanced capability and enabled communities.

As a widely regarded leader in democratic, civic and social innovation and smart cities, Amelia is also dedicated to evolving engagement practice.

She puts that leadership into action through our Evolving Democracy series and speaking regularly at conferences. She also enables communities and social innovators around Australia and overseas by curating engaging events, designing training, and facilitating workshops and virtual events.

Amelia is the founder and Executive Director of The Centre for Civic Innovation, co-Vice Chair of the Australia and New Zealand Smart Cities Council Civic Innovation Taskforce, and a writer for The Mandarin and Code for All.
