Capability Building for Engagement
The Citizen Engagement and Insights Unit at Auckland Council are currently implementing a 3year program of work to step up the quality of their public engagement. As part of this process, the Council asked Engage2 to provide strategic capability building service. This service included:
- Design of an integrated ICT architecture for engagement;
- A strategy for digital transformation;
- Support to set up a procurement panel for engagement technology.
EngageTech Forum
Council also asked Engage2 to deliver an EngageTech Forum specifically for The Auckland Council Group. Council used the Forum to expose staff in the network to the spectrum of technologies available for engagement. The forums were designed to encourage teams across their organisations to think strategically about how they purchase and experiment with the use of these tools to deliver more value from both council and community-led engagement.
As part of Engage2’s commitment to Council, we used interactive sessions during the Forum to collect use cases, lessons and tips from participants to compile a report that was shared with everyone involved.
Facilitation
After the Forum Amelia facilitated a briefing session for engagement technology vendors and Council’s procurement and engagement teams to discuss Council’s engagement objectives, ICT strategy and procurement processes. As a result, we have set up a panel of suppliers so teams across Council Group can access and use tools more easily.
As team use these tools, they are being asked to share their learnings about different engagement products so that, council can better align their business needs with fit for purpose tools.
We tailored this capability building service to the specific needs of Auckland Council and its teams.
