In 2017, engage2 created and facilitated the inaugural COMMUNITY ChangeCamp, a day long, workshop-style for people working to deliver social outcomes in Sydney.
We used innovative engagement methods to design the event and generate interest, managed event logistics, communications and facilitated on the day.
The ‘unconference’ had some structure, but the agenda was set by participants. People were invited to share what they were doing for others in the community and to find others who could help maximise the social impact of their efforts.
COMMUNITY ChangeCamp was a resounding success. The initiative brought together some of the most interesting and interested people from government, the NGO sector, the business community and citizens who wanted to, or who already were, using their skills to support social change, and encouraged them to self-organise.
Attended by people from all walks of life, it was a dynamic day full of inspiring, robust discussion. Connections were made, collaborations born, and participants gained a deeper understanding of the city’s social change landscape.
